DICKENS
Dickens es una banda mexicana de rock fundada por Héctor Avalos a mediados de 2001. Tocaron su primer show allá por 2002 y lanzaron su primer EP en 2003. Se convirtieron en uno de los grupos de consistencia en el norte de México con varios álbumes con melodías muy pegadizas y letras que van desde el humor hasta mensajes de conciencia social. También escriben sobre la ironía de la vida.
Hasta ahora han participado en numerosas compilaciones mexicanas y sus canciones se han reproducido en diversas estaciones de radio en México, Argentina, EE. UU. Canadá y Europa. También se han presentado en una gran cantidad de espectáculos que van desde bares hasta grandes festivales. Han hecho gira nacional presentándose en Ciudad de México, Guadalajara, Durango, Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa y otros estados.
A través de este viaje han compartido escenario con bandas como 2 Minutos, Get Dead, Allison, Los Apson, The Decline, Lindsay McDougall (Frenzal Rhomb), Sekta Core, Here Comes The Kraken y muchos otros artistas..
El estilo y sonido de Dickens es en su mayoría punk rock, pero también tienen otras influencias que surgen en sus canciones, desde el Punk rock hasta el Ska, Pop, Metal, Baladas, Hard-core, Punk-pop y sonido rock de los 60’s.
Actualmente Dickens sacó su Album “Wreck Songs” y planean continuar haciendo más shows en vivo y apariciones en festivales, así como también hacer nuevos discos en los años venideros.
DICKENS
Dickens is a Mexican punk rock band. They played their first show way back in 2001 and released their first EP in 2003. They’ve went on to become one of the consistents band in the north part of Mexico with various Albums with very catchy melodies and lyrics that are from humors to message anti-goverment, anti-racist and anti lots of more crap. They also write about the Irony of life.
So far they have participate in plenty mexican compilations and their songs have been played in many radio stations in México, Argentina, U.S.A. Canada and Europe. They also have played in lot of shows that goes squats from Festival in large stages. They have tour presenting itself in México City, Guadalajara, Durango, Baja California, Sonora, Sinaloa and other states of Mexico.
Through this trip they have shared stage with bands such as 2 Minutos, Get Dead, Allison, Los Apson, The Decline, Lindsay McDougall (Frenzal Rhomb), Sekta Core, Here Comes The Kraken and many other artists.
Dickens sound is mostly punk rock but they also have other influences that emerge in their songs from punk rock to Ska, Pop, Metal, Ballads Hard-core, Punk-pop and 60’s rock sound.
At the present Dickens give us a new album call it “Wreck Songs” and plans to continue doing more live shows and festival appearances as well as making new records in years to come.
